Family Health Festivals

When: Saturday, January 30, 2010
Times: 9:00 a. m. to 12 noon
Locations: There are two Festivals at the same time.
     Bonne Ecole Elementary gymnasium (Slidell) and Blood Drive
     Instructional Technology Center (Mandeville)

Again this year the Family Health Festivals are open to employees and their immediate families: spouse and children.

Schools and offices with employees attending the Festivals will be formally recognized as “Healthy Schools” or “Healthy Office Sites”. The schools and offices will be recognized with certificates. Teachers attending the Festival will be able to earn one (1) banking hour to be used for the 2009-2010 school year. One school at each Festival with the most employees attending the Festivals will receive one extra “B-Day”.

Services to be offered:
• Chiropractic massages, spinal screenings, body health info
• Information on cancer: prevention, care, etc.
• Hearing testing
• Health club information
• BlueCross/BlueShield representatives
• First Financial representatives
• Blood pressure
• Glucose screenings
• Cholesterol screening
• Health food/juice information
• Breast Cancer self exam and info
• Grip strength/flexibility
• Bone density screenings, body mass index and body fat percentages
• Lipid screenings (a 10 hour fast is best for this; just do not eat after 8 p. m., Friday, January 29th. This test is free for employees; please bring your ID badge. There will be a $20.00 fee for spouses. Everything else at the fair is free for spouses and family members.)
