Gia Baker Sworn in as District 9 Representative (01-25-2021)

Gia Baker was sworn in as the District 9 School Board representative Thursday, January 21, following a vote by the board. Baker was one of five people who sought the office after it was vacated by Sharon Drucker.
Baker is a native of Covington and a graduate of Covington High School. She is a retired educator from the School System who served as a teacher, special education coordinator, and special education IEP facilitator. She is active in the St. Tammany community and has served on the board of the Children's Advocacy Center, Hope House.
Baker's term will run until a special election for the seat is held in the fall of 2021.
