STPPS swimmers combined to win seven state titles at the 2019 LHSAA State Swim Meet in Sulphur. In all, STPPS athletes totaled 20 medals for first-, second-, and third-place finishes at the state meet.
In the Girls Division I Meet, Mandeville finished as the state runner-up thanks to five top-three finishes. Northshore finished fourth overall and Fontainebleau finished ninth.
Northshore's 200-yard medley relay won the state title with a time of 1:52.28, besting Mandeville's relay team which finished in a time of 1:52.15. Mandeville's 400-yard freestyle relay team later beat Northshore for the state title with a time of 3:41.50. Northshore finished third with a time of 3:44.74.
Ellie Fritscher of Mandeville finished second in the 200-yard IM and third in the 100-yard butterfly.
Northshore's Aubrey St. Pierre took home the state title in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:06.55.
In the Boys Division I Meet, Mandeville finished fourth overall, followed by Northshore in fifth and Fontainebleau in eighth.
Northshore's Michael Bonson won the state title in both the 200-yard and 500-yard freestyle events. Mandeville's Matthew Larsen finished second in the 200-yard IM.
In the Boys Division II Meet, Jacob Price led Lakeshore to a third-place finish with two individual state titles. Price won both the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle events. Teammate Kyle Maggio finished second in the 50-yard freestyle. Lakeshore's 200-yard medley and 200-yard freestyle relay teams both posted runner-up finishes.
