Four STPPS teams are in the state playoffs as the "Road to the Superdome" begins Friday. Three of the four schools will host bi-district playoff match-ups.
In Class 5A, the streaking Slidell Tigers (8-2), winners of seven straight, host the Central Lafourche Trojans (6-4) at L.V. McGinty Stadium in Slidell. A win would give Slidell nine wins for the first time since 2004.
Fontainebleau (6-4) is the only STPPS team on the road as the Bulldogs travel to the northern part of the state to battle Haughton (8-2).
In Class 4A, undefeated Lakeshore (10-0) hosts the DeRidder Dragons (6-4) at Titan Coliseum. Lakeshore, which advanced to the Class 4A state championship game in 2017, has won its last three home playoff games by a combined score of 130-24.
Thanks to its best record in a decade, Pearl River (7-2) is hosting a bi-district game against Franklin Parish (5-5). The Rebels are seeking their first playoff win in school history and their first eight-win season since 1989.
