Late-Game Heroics Cap Playoff Openers

Three games came down to the wire Friday night during the Bi-District Round of the 2017 LHSAA Football State Playoffs.

Trailing 24-7 entering the fourth quarter, Salmen (9-2) engineered its fifth fourth-quarter comeback victory. The Cardiac Spartans fought back to knock off Lutcher 34-30.

Northshore stormed back in the second half to send its game to overtime. However, #5 St. Amant prevailed 41-38 in double OT over the Panthers.

Slidell was leading late in the fourth quarter, but Dutchdown came back to upset the Tigers 28-24 in Slidell.

Lakeshore (11-0) recorded its first playoff win in school history with a 42-0 victory over Pearl River. St. Tammany's other undefeated team (#2 Covington) cruised to a 35-21 win over Thibodaux.
