Week 9 of the 2017 high school football regular season lived up to the hype as two games were decided in the final minutes of regulation.
Branyan Bounds scored the go-ahead touchdown with 30 seconds remaining to give Northshore a 24-18 come-from-behind victory at Ponchatoula. In Slidell, Josh Wills' 37-yard field goal gave the Tigers a hard-fought 10-7 win over Fontainebleau.
Salmen's defense was unstoppable Friday night as the ninth-ranked Spartans extended their win streak to seven games with a 28-8 win at Franklinton. On Senior Night, Mandeville upset rival St. Paul's 28-14.
St. Tammany's two remaining undefeated teams - Covington and Lakeshore - remained unbeaten after nine weeks. #2 Covington posted a 32-14 Homecoming win over Hammond, while #4 Lakeshore recorded a 47-20 win over Pearl River.
