Our Students Build Robots, Too

Mandeville Junior High’s Team 10337 Dark Matter and Lake Harbor Middle’s robotics team will represent STPPS on the national stage. Dark Matter won the Inspire Award at the Louisiana Regional Championships on March 4 at UNO, and they advanced to the FIRST Tech Athens Super Regional Championship – South from March 23-25.

Lake Harbor qualified for the VEX Robotics World Championship after winning the Excellence Award – Middle School (VRC/VEXU) at the Louisiana State VEX Robotics Championship. The World Championship will be held April 19-22 in Kentucky.

Northshore High’s Team 8956 also competed at the Louisiana Regional Championships at UNO where they won the Connect Award and teamed up with Dark Matter on the Winning Alliance. NHS sophomore Jonah Delaney and Slidell High junior Leevi Morris have won the Dean’s List Finalist Award and will compete in Houston at the FIRST World Championships in April.

Later this month, five STPPS teams will compete at the Bayou Regional held March 23-25 in Kenner: 1912 Combustion (Northshore and Salmen High), 2221 Robodawgs (Fontainebleau High), 2992 S.S. Prometheus (Mandeville High), 3946 Tiger Robotics (Slidell High) and 6759 Rebel (Pearl River High).
