Slidell Junior High Principal Patrick Mackin was recognized recently in front of STPPS Principals and Administrators for being named a National Distinguished Principal.
Representatives from VALIC, sponsor of the National Distinguished Principals Program, were in attendance to award Mackin for the honor.
The National Distinguished Principals program honors outstanding elementary and middle-level administrators who ensure that America's children acquire a sound foundation for lifelong learning and achievement.

Black & Gold Day is Friday ::..
STPPS will celebrate Black and Gold Day this Friday to support the Children’s Museum of St. Tammany.
With the contribution of $1 or more, students and employees can wear their black and gold all day.

Mandeville Elementary Holds Relay Recess to Benefit American Cancer Society ::..
Mandeville Elementary students were engaged in the fight against cancer as they learned about how to stay healthy while raising money for the American Cancer Society during their Relay Recess event.

In addition to walking, the event included a soccer station as a fun way to stay active, a healthy snack station, a healthy facts area and a station where students made cards for patients at Children’s Hospital.

It was an inspiring display of teamwork and school spirit at the first ever High School Unified Bocce Games held at Covington High School.

The St. Tammany Parish Adapted Physical Education Department hosted the games to provide students with and without disabilities an opportunity to participate in a sporting event together as one. Students partnered up in teams of two from Covington High, Lakeshore High, Mandeville High and Fontainebleau High.

Schools to Close for Thanksgiving Holiday ::..
St. Tammany Parish Public Schools will close for the Thanksgiving Holidays on Monday, November 23, through Friday, November 27. Classes will resume on Monday, November 30.
Support offices will close at noon on Wednesday, November 25, and will re-open on Monday, November 30.
