School System Workshop Promotes Positive Behavior Support ::..

Schools from throughout St. Tammany Parish sent representatives to a recent day-long workshop on Positive Behavior Support (PBS), a program that encourages good behavior habits among students. Mrs. Gayle Sloan, Superintendent, spoke briefly to those gathered at the Castine Center, Pelican Park in Mandeville, about the powerful impact the program was having by helping reduce discipline problems. The PBS plan was designed to promote an effective learning environment in the schools by establishing expectations, developing effective interventions to help ensure good conduct, and successfully creating a positive climate within each school.
