St. Tammany School Food Services continues to offer healthy meal choices for our students. We are increasing whole grain menu items, offering more choices of fruits and vegetables and introducing new entrée selections this year.

We are pleased to say that our schools still serve school-made bread and we make most of our entrees from scratch.

Please refer to our cycle menus that are used throughout the parish. When more than one entrée or main dish is offered, the individual cafeteria manager selects the menu that is most popular with her students. One or more fruits are offered each day. The specific fruit is not listed on the cycle menu as these choices change with the seasonal availability. Junior and Senior High Schools also offer a sandwich line three or more days a week. Many schools offer freshly made smoothies as a choice as well.

We encourage parents to eat school lunch and breakfast with your children as long as you have the approval of the principal.

We recently received certification from the USDA and Louisiana Department of Education for implementation of the new menu pattern. The menus limit the amount of fat and saturated fat and contain no trans fats. Each week, students are offered fruits and vegetables that are excellent sources of Vitamin A and C. Carbohydrate counts and allergen information is available upon request.
