The St. Tammany Parish Public School System works off of a General Fund Budget of approximately $439 million with 77% of that funding going towards instructional purposes in the classroom. The schools are supported by local, state and federal funds.
The St. Tammany Parish School Board has a bond rating of AA which is issued by the Standard & Poor’s Rating Services. This is the highest bond rating issued to any School System in Louisiana. This high credit rating allows the School Board to continue to save millions of dollars in interest costs on bonds. The savings in interest costs results in substantial savings to property taxpayers.
