Thank you for your interest in applying for positions with the St. Tammany Parish School System. Prior to starting the online application, please read the following information carefully.

SCANNED/REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
Education

Prior to starting the online application, you will be required to scan copies of your education and St. Tammany Parish and/or State certifications for certain positions. Scanned documents are not required if you apply for a lunchroom technician position or a custodial position.

If you do not provide the required documents, your application will be considered incomplete and you will not be considered for vacancies within our school system.

LEGAL DOCUMENTS

You must provide copies of legal documents for any of the following:

  • Arrests
  • Convictions
  • Summons
  • Guilty pleas
  • Nolo Contendere pleas
  • Nolle Prossed charges
  • Probation

Failure to disclose information regarding a criminal history will exclude you from employment, substitute work, and volunteer work with the St. Tammany Parish School System.

To complete the online application, you must have a personal e-mail address. If you do not have an e-mail address you will not be able to submit your application.

NON-CERTIFICATED VACANCIES

Non-certificated vacancies are posted on our website at www.stpsb.org under “Employment Opportunities” and are posted in our schools and sites.

CERTIFICATED VACANCIES

Teacher vacancy information can be provided only to those that have a complete certificated application on file by contracting Amy Ortiz-Lange at (985) 898-3278. Teaching applications are accepted year round.

Only certificated vacancies that are part of an extended program (longer than nine months) are advertised online. Available vacancies can be viewed by clicking the "vacancies" tab at the top of the page.

An annual teacher placement fair is held in late May/early June.  This event is by invitation only!  An invitation is extended to applicants that have a complete, certificated application, which includes two answered electronic reference questionnaires, on file by May 1st.  Those that have a complete application on file after the deadline will be considered for vacancies that become available after the placement fair.

APPLICATION PROCESS

  • For each specific job class/position you wish to apply for, it is necessary for you to complete a separate online application. Although this initial ‘set up’ will take some time, for additional positions of interest, you are only required to complete the field requirements and scan and attach documents that pertain to the new job class/position. All other information previously entered will automatically copy to the new job application.
  • Once your application is complete and on file with our Human Resources Department, you will automatically be considered for every posted vacancy in your specified job class. For example, if you completed a ‘custodian’ application, when a position is posted for a custodial vacancy, your application will automatically be considered for that vacancy. With the online application process, it is NOT necessary to contact our Human Resources Department to express your interest in a posted vacancy.
