Unit Length and Description:

 

Length: Approximately five weeks

 

Description: Just For Fun is a unit where students begin report writing. The stories focus on animal friends, helping others, habitats, music, and laughter. The phonics/spelling skills cover the short o, e, and u; introduce digraphs and l blends. The comprehension focus includes summarizing, main ideas with details, retelling, and sequencing. Fluency practice focuses on reading patterns, reading questions, reading dialogue, and reading exclamations.
