Schools Close for Mardi Gras Holiday ::..

All St. Tammany Parish Public Schools will be closed Monday, February 8th through Friday, February 12th for the Mardi Gras Holiday. Classes will resume Monday, February 15th. Support offices will be closed Monday, February 8th and Tuesday, February 9th.

Two from STPPS Receive LACUE Awards ::..

Fontaineableau High Assistant Principal Michael Astugue along with Channel 13 intern and Slidell High student Kristi Lacour have been recognized for excelling in technology by the Louisiana Association of Computer Using Educators, or LACUE.

Awarded the Region II Leader of the Year by LACUE, Mr. Astugue transfers his love and use of technology to other teachers by coordinating and presenting technology professional development and sharing his blog where he writes about using technology in the classroom.  Mr. Astugue is also responsible for ordering technology at FHS, collaborating with teachers on how to use technology within their classrooms, observing teachers using ...

Fundraiser for Royal Family KIDS Held ::..

STPPS students and employees helped make a difference for local foster children in St. Tammany by wearing jeans on Friday, February 5th with the donation of $1.00 or more to Royal Family KIDS.

This is the third districtwide charitable fundraiser the School System participated in this school year. Donations will help send local students in the foster system to summer camp.

Royal Family KIDS is the nation’s leading network of camps and mentor clubs for children of abuse, abandonment and neglect.

Lake Harbor Student Named State Doodle 4 Google Winner ::..

Lake Harbor Middle School fifth grader Ana Lyons was surprised by Google representatives during an assembly on Friday as she was announced as the Louisiana winner in the Doodle 4 Google contest!

See her doodle and vote for her artwork to be featured on Google for an entire day. Voting will be open through February 22nd.

If she is named a finalist, she will receive a $5,000 scholarship and a trip to Google Headquarters in California to meet the Google Doodlers. If she is the national winner, she will receive a $30,000 college scholarship and a $50,000 Google for Education grant for her school.

STPPS Celebrates Mardi Gras ::..

STPPS has been celebrating the Carnival season with parades and other Mardi Gras related activities such as constructing floats, decorating king cakes and more.
